Russian Nuclear Power Plants set a record of electricity production
In 2017 Russian Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) set the record in the volume of generated electricity by increasing cumulative production by more than 6.5 billion kWh, up to 202.868 billion kWh (against 196.366 billion kWh in 2016). It is the absolute record over the entire history of the Russian nuclear power.
Kalinin, Balakovo (about 32 billion kWh each) and Leningrad (26.7 billion kWh) nuclear power plants were the largest producers among Russian NPPs.
Thus, Russian NPPs got closer to the absolute production record reached only during the Soviet Union times in 1989 (212.58 billion kWh, considering plants in Ukraine, Lithuania and Armenia).
Concern Rosenergoatom JSC is a leading enterprise of the Power Division of ROSATOM and the largest generator in Russia and the 2nd in the world in nuclear generation capacities.
It incorporates all 10 nuclear power plants of Russia. In total, Russian NPPs operate 35 units with the total installed capacity of 27.9 GW.
